MONG DNA PRESENTS

How do we translate DNA into Mong? Anyone knows, please send us your inputs to our email: mongheritage@gmail.com

DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid. "Yog cov xeebcim nyob rua ntawm txhua yaam muaj sha, uas muaj lub noob xeeb tsim yaam ntawv. Kuj qha tau tas lub noob nua yog xws le caag lug twg lug."

As we try to understand our DNAs, keep an open mind that our ancestors migrated to different regions in the past. They had mixed marriages as well as adopted children from other ethnicities. Part of this page is to evaluate our DNAs and apply them to migrations to understand our histories.

From our history, Mong was the unification of several tribes from the Xia to Zhou Dynasties and then subsequent kingdoms. Therefore, to better understand who we are, we need to look at the variance of our DNAs along with understanding our culture and history.

HOW TO SUPPORT OUR DNA STUDIES

We need your help to increase the pool of DNA testing especially the males. This will give us a better picture of who we are as a people.

1. You can get a test kit from either 23andMe or Family Tree DNA or Ancestry or any company that provides DNA services ("nucleic acid testing") to determine your haplogroup.

2. You may send your DNA results to us at mongheritage@gmail.com, and we will compile them with the rest of the Mong DNA data bank. Your data will be confidential, meaning we do not share it with others. We only provide the statistical results to the public for educational purposes.

HOW TO BE INVOLVED

Be a part of our team to contribute in helping Mong Heritage to educate who we are. If you are an expert in DNA or would like to contribute to help with Mong DNA education, feel free to contact us at this email:
